Bethany grew up in Alamo, CA in the Bay Area. She became a Christian at a young age but has grown and developed her faith into a personal living relationship with Christ. Bethany is the third of four girls in her family. Her two older sisters are married and she has one nephew. Her younger sister plays softball at APU. She says that following her competitive and active sisters she played every sport possible from basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. She took her passion for sports into high school and saw her team as her mission field, living by the verse Philippians 4:13. She ended up playing soccer at Samford University for two years then finished at Azusa Pacific University. It was when she went to East Asia in 2006 on a softball mission trip with Competitive Edge International where she found her passion for sports ministry. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors of Arts in Youth Ministry. She joined the FCA staff in December of 2008. She is also an assistant softball coach at Azusa Pacific University and is currently getting her Masters in Organizational lLeadership from there as well. |
