Coba Canales has been the Area Rep for the South Bay and West LA area since September, 2008 after serving as an intern in the Greater San Fernando Valley the previous year.Coba had been a volunteer with FCA before joining our staff—leading Huddles at both Carson High School and Stephen M. White Middle School, as well as serving as a Huddle Leader at FCA Camp.After spending his freshman year of college at the University of Pennsylvania, playing Football and Baseball, Coba decided to transfer to Azusa Pacific University to prepare for ministry and continue playing football and baseball. There he was named team Captain of both football and baseball teams as well as receiving “Most Inspirational Player” honors on the football team. After graduating from APU in 2006 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and a Biblical Language Minor, Coba served as a ministry intern at Mission Eben-Ezer Family Church in Carson while part-time Substitute Teaching in the LAUSD.Now married to his high school sweetheart, Coba and Andrea are involved in ministry in the Southbay area. Andrea is the Director of Missions Kidz Pre-School in Carson, CA. Coba is also currently attending Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena where he will finish with his Masters of Divinity in December, 2010.
