Los Angeles City Director of Ministry - Kevin Nickerson
Pastor Kevin Nickerson was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He received his B.S. in Business Administration at Central Missouri State University. In 2008, he was inducted into the CMSU Athletic Hall of Fame for his many achievements during his college football career. Post-college, he played 7 years of professional football in the Arena2 Football League, Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League, respectively. During this time, he was led to minister to his fellow athletes and was a leader on and off the field.
As a young man, Kevin rededicated his life to Christ on February 2nd, 2003 at his grandmother's funeral. He experienced God in a very powerful way and was called to enter the ministry in 2005. He felt strongly that God was leading him to serve the youth. Kevin is the head youth pastor at Mission Eben-Ezer Family Church and co-founded the ROCK youth center, which is a community sports facility that aims to reach at-risk youth.
Growing up in the inner city, Kevin has repeatedly beaten the odds. Kevin is very passionate about leading young athletes to Christ and helping them focus their attention in a positive direction. Because of his love for the Lord and his passion for helping young athletes, he began working with FCA in 2010 and is currently the Director of Ministries for FCA Los Angeles. He oversees huddles in 32 schools and is determined to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout campuses in the Los Angeles area. Kevin feels strongly about giving back to his community and disciples young men in hopes that they will become strong men of character who are grounded in God's word.
Kevin moved to Carson, CA in 2004. He married his wife, Bebe in 2005 and they have two beautiful children, Zacarias (3), and Lydia (1) and have one on the way! Both Kevin and his wife feel it is very important to reach children at a young age and to teach them about Christ's love.
