Marcos Garcia - Area Representative

East LA

First of all, I like to thank my Lord, Christ Jesus, for this opportunity to work for FCA and thank the FCA family for allowing me to work and be a part of this amazing family...Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

My name is Marcos Garcia and I was born and raised in East Los Angeles. I have been involved in sports since I was a child. I played football, baseball, basketball and boxed at Salesian Boy's Club. My love for boxing grew and in 1984 I was invited to the qualifying round for the 1984 Olympics. I lost but I am a two time Golden Glove winner.

My pride and joy, I am married to my beautiful wife, Enedina Garcia. We have three beautiful children, Agustina, 22 years old, Rosina, 16 years old and Jesse, 8 years old. Agustina recently graduated from Hope International University, Rosina is a junior at Whittier Christian High School, where she competes in cross country and track and field, and Jesse attends Whittier Christian Elementary, and has played little league baseball and participated in a Christian basketball league.

In 2007/2008 I attended Life Pacific College where I completed credits for my Bachelor's degree in theology with an emphasis in leadership. I was an associate pastor at a foursquare church from 2007 through 2011 in Santa Fe Springs. I was in charge of the men's department and outreach ministries. For eight years I took a group of people to the Union Rescue Mission every month to feed the homeless and that ministry holds a special place in my heart.
